BIG BANG‘s very own Taeyang has achieved something great as he was able to top Japan’s largest music website, Recochoku. The Korean version of his solo album, RISE, was released in Japan on June 18th, and already topped the daily chart of the day in the album category. RISE also took a top spot for Japan’s iTunes pop album chart, where it ranked #2 on the overall album chart. It is clear to see that his album garnered a lot of popularity from the local fans.
His official Japanese debut album will be released on August 13th and will also include songs from his Complete Best, his first album SOLAR, debut mini album HOT and his latest album RISE, where some songs from RISE will be re-recorded in Japanese.
He has already been recognized for being a member of the ever popular group BIG BANG, but as a soloist, he has made a name for himself with the success of his solo debut and solo tour in Japan. As part of BIG BANG, the group will for the first time, headline the A-nation Island & Stadium Festival 2014 powered by Binjelly on Friday August 29th.
As for Korea, Taeyang’s title track, Eyes, Nose, Lips has already reached the top of the Melon chart, and still remains so. On Gaon‘s weekly overall album chart, RISE has snagged #1 as well.
